Smear some peanut butter in it and then freeze it! Dogs love it!

I have a pitbull, and she LOVES when I take a piece of string cheese, break it in half, and stuff them in there!! :) Also, a little bit of peanut butter along the inside she’ll go crazy for!! :)

i like to put broken up dog biscuts in and seal it with a thicklayer of peanut butter. stick it in the freezer for about 3 hours and then watch him work!

I don’t recommend putting anything in there that is perishable unless you really plan on sending it through the dishwasher now and again.

And whatever you do, do not use Kong or other brand “cheese whiz” or peanut butter that comes in a spray can. If you knew what was in that stuff you would never feed it to your dog.

I’d use any type of meat treat such as salmon or duck.

I have a smaller dog and kong but I put some nutro natural choice lamb and rice sticks that I cut up to fit tightly in there. Then I put a broken(break it til it fits but is tight) milkbone and stuff it in there and then a shot of the p-nut butter kong stuffing stuff. He LOVES IT.

Peanut butter goes great, but remember to wash it out and replace it every other day for obvious reasons. Shredded carrots also work nicely, just wet them slightly and they will stick to the inside if you want a healthier treat. They work well because the dog is able to get them, but has to work to do it. You don’t want too difficult of a treat or too easy or the dog will lose interest.

Kong actually sells cookies that fit nicely into the Kong toy, but you can also soak regular kibble in some water (just put it in a plastc container inthe fridge overnight, and then stuff the kong with it, and throw it in the freezer.

That way, your dog isn’t actually getting anything they wouldn’t otherwise eat.

You can also drizzle a very small amount of cod liver oil in there - they will think you have actually voluntarily given them the best treat ever, because it smells so bad…which of course they should work on outdoors. Just a few drops, though, and it will be really great - and it takes them a fair amount to get it all.

You can also freeze cooked rice with any kind of flavoring - broth or a very small amount of Parmesan cheese. Cheap, not terribly messy, and they will have fun getting it out.
