Milkbones are not the best treats, but a few won't kill your dog. Just be sure not to give them too often...they are high in calcium (too many can lead to bladder/kidney stones). Try to limit treats to once a day.

No its not good for them, but it is a treat after all and isn't that pretty much the definition of a treat. My dogs are on good kibble, they get milk bones as a treat I have tried the healthier ones but the senior dog loves them and I figure she has been eating them for 13 years, why stop her now.

They are low-quality; full of grain, byproducts, sugar, artificial coloring, and carcinogenic preservatives. I wouldn't feed them to my dog. (I use EVO biscuits instead.)

Well they aren't horrible. They are wheat sprayed with chicken fat.
My dogs love them and won't eat the expensive organic healthy stuff I buy for them, so its milkbones for my crew.

I have never had a problem with them, but found that the dogs prefer my homemade ones better. If would like the recipe post a query,

Milkbones are high in carbs, so feeding a lot of them isn't good, especially for an overweight dog.
