I have found the CUZ to be a veru durable toy. I have a boxer that loves his toys and within minutes most of them are destroyed. I will warn you the CUZ is definitely the most obnoxious toy but well worth it to watch them play with it. Good luck! These can be found at petsmart or just google it and you will see what they are. There are good cuz, bad cuz, dino cuz simply all kinds!

This is actually a good problem to have. Here's why:
--your dog is focusing on toys and not your shoes, purses, curtains or belts. That's a good habit you've got him doing.
--he's putting energy into chewing things up. It could be energy he puts into bouncing off the walls or turning over waste baskets or doing something far more annoying.

1. Get a Kong. They're tough. And you can put food in them. They're available on-line or even at Petco and Petsmart. See the website below. Then you can squirt a little cheez whiz or some peanut butter in the middle of it. Then watch your dog go for hours trying to get every last little bit out.

2. Get or make your own rope-toys. Just go to Home Depot, buy 3 -4 feet of 1 inch rope and start tying it in knots. Then play tug games with him.

3. As long as what your dog is chewing to pieces consists of rope or leather or rawhide, that's good. It's keeping his teeth clean and giving him something to focus on. Just as a rule of thumb, give your dog a fresh, uncooked, beef marrow bone once a week and he'll love it.

4. You can always convert him to other outlets. Playing fetch with a ball or frisbee for instance. Or get him into a performance sport (rally-o, flyball or agility).

Finally, stay away from any toy made in China that has some black on it. Some preliminary tests have shown high levels of lead in dog toys with black paint (this includes some of the ceramic food and water dishes) from China.

In Canada there is a toy called a Kong which is made of rubber and is impossible to chew to pieces. They are available at most pet stores and are a great for putting treats inside to keep your dog happy for hours.
Good luck.
