dog toy is dirty?

dog toy

Our dog just dropped his favorite rubber toy in the toilet right after someone peed in it, gross I know, can we boil it with soap and water or will it still be germy and nasty? Any other suggestions?
Hes attached to this one, so we do not want to buy another.

considering dogs eat their own poo, the pee will probably be spice for it

Just wash it off with scalding hot water (and a little bit of soap). It will be fine…and your dog will be happy to have his favorite toy back again.

dont boil it. if you have a dish washer put it in there. or wash it in the washer with a load of cloths or just wash it in some hot soapy water. make sure that all the soap is off the toy or it will make the dog sick. if you wash it in the dish washer dont use the detergent. But dont worry too much, the dog dont care too much.

i agree that the hot soap and water will do just fine…think of all the other not so pleasant things your dog gets into

Wash with very hot water. Still worried? Take a deep bowl or bucket and put it in hot water that covers it completely and add a capful fo bleach. Let is soak for about 15 minutes and then rinse WELL with more running hot hot water. Let dry, give back to the dog.

OK, Millerman is just sick. What you need to do is take the toy and soak it in some Hydrogen Peroxide to kill any germs on it. Then you can just wash it off with warm soapy water to remove the peroxide(this is so the peroxide doesn’t dry it out, or leave a white residue on the toy). Then, give him his toy, and let him have a ball. Try to keep the lid closed in the future though. Good luck.

boil it to kill off the germs, then scrub it with a lot of soap and warm water. That should clean it off, that’s how i clean my dog’s toys when her dog friend’s come to visit and play with her toys.

since it’s just rubber, wash it with soap and water *you don’t need to boil the water*

Yes, just wash it good with soap and water.

    Just to let you know:
Alcohol used to kill germs on something takes 15 mins. soaking time.

Boil it in hot water and soap. Then put it in the dishwasher.

Boiling will do it, but don’t use your spaghetti pot!
