My dog tore up a kong toy!?

My dog tore up a kong toy about 1 or 2 months ago! i thought they were the toughest dog toy in the US! but i guess they’re not, my dog isnt that tough either, hes a min pin and chihuahua mix. but my mom put a piece of steak in there for him, and he was trying his best for about 8hrs to get the piece of steak out, but he couldnt. then i see him chewing on something, different looking but its still the same kong toy. he chewed a ring around the toy, i have no idea how tho!

My dobermans have shredded several Kongs. Indestructable my rear!
We found a thick rubber fire hydrant at WalMart very similar to the Kong and we’ve had them for almost 4 yrs now and they’ve been through 3 dobermans and still intact!!!

I have heard of a 12lb dog tearing one up…I guess these dogs really are wild. lol. Oh my gosh…8hrs on steak!!! Yeah…maybe next time help him out and um…cut it down to 2 tops. lol Good luck with the puppy.

I had a pit bull do that once for a piece of food, probably just really excitied about getting that piece of food. Kongs are pretty durable though. Trying putting stuff in there that your dog has to lick at, instead of chomping down, to get to, like peanut butter or the kong filling (my dog goes crazy over that stuff)

Then if you don’t have the black one - the one for super hard chewers - then that’s the one you should get. Also,

hahahaha funny chiwawwa tore up a kong it was prolly a bad idea to put the steak in there
