try a soft stress ball not a tennis ball or a stick because it might chip it’s teeth.

If your dog is active like mine, he loves to chew his toys up! I wouldn’t leave the dog alone during the day with any kind of squeak toys or stuffed fillers while you’re not home. The size of the ’squeaker’ is the same size of their windpipe and he could choke on it (think of it like feeding your toddlers hot dogs unsupervised!) When we’re gone for the day, the only toys our puppy gets are his Kong and his Nylabone. Very important though- Make sure to choose a Nylabone that is right for your dog’s age and chewing habits- They have bones from a light chewer to a heavy chewer. You’ll want to choose a bone that he won’t be able to destroy in a day. It will keep him occupied all day and won’t pose a threat to his health.

Well, a good dog toy is problay something to chew on, like a stuffed animal with NO cotton inside, like a chew animal made for dogs which you can get at almost any store,,dont buy anything with cotton in or on it for your dog its harmful bcuse your dont might choke.

My Mom just got my Chihuahua/Yorkie Mix a orange bone from Petco. It’s made for chewers (My other dog is a Boxer/Lab mix she chews on it too so it’s really good) so it will last, it bounces all over the place when they throw it so it’s fun for him.
Or you could get him one of those Kong toys that come with the stuff to put inside it, that will keep him busy.

I own a very active fox terrier. He is an aggressive chewer (its not a prob. for us). I buy him Nylabones. He chews on Nylabones for about an hour maybe 3 times a week. He goes through them fast because once the ends are worn down the bone must be disposed. Nylabones clean your dog’s teeth and they will give him something to do. Remember to buy the right size though, because a 13 lb. rat terrier can’t be given a bone that is too big. Try a small bone, I personally give my dog (which is slightly larger than yours at 24 lbs.) a Nylabone about 4 1/2 inches long.

Rope toys (especially the ones with hooves or small bones threaded onto them) are usually popular with our dogs. Do you stuff the Kong with peanut butter or treat paste and freeze it for a few hours? That usually makes for a lot more play-value.

The interactive type toys that dispense treats are usually entertaining to most pups.

Check out this url below for a good selection of indestructable dog toys, there’s sure to be something on the list that he’ll enjoy!

I might help you because my beagle is so active. =) Most of the time, I give dog bones to my dog. It keep my dog busy while I was out for one-day vacation. I would recommend that big bones are the best. Some dogs like to bury dog bones in the yard, so they can dig it up and chew on it later. Others want to chew it and carry it around. Dog bones also help getting plaque off of the dog’s teeth.

Dog toys come in many variations, including:

    - dog bones
    - puppy toys
    - balls
    - tug toys
    - training aids
    - squeaky toys
    - discs and frisbees
    - plush toys

Anyway, I think it is important that dog toys be safe for the dog, toys that are not safe could result in the injury, illness or death of the dog. Dog toys are not safe if small pieces can be chewed or pulled off as these could be swallowed by the dog. The toy should also be adequate for the dog, taking into consideration their size and activity levels.

    Hope that helps~
