If it is the same small quacking duck that my boxer has.. it has a small square piece in it and if you press it he quacks.. like our giggling koala bear that my boxer loves... I got mine at Petco.. and a new pet store in my town (sulphur springs,tx) Pet Sense is now caring both toys and also has a cute larger duck that has a real deep quack like the long loofah dogs have.
Put a photo on here , that would be a great help.. but try looking online...

Here's a link to a quacking duck toy.
I've never seen any of those toys at ANY of those stores
when I was looking for my dogs.

Target sells duck and pheasants. My GSD is a very rough player with his toys. He picks and chooses which of his toys to destroy in about 7 seconds and which ones he keeps.

My dog has several toy ducks, geese and pheasants that quack. They are her favorites. I get them at petco and petsmart.

This is the duck she has:

the same company makes the pheasant and goose and quail.
Another thing we did, is she has a toy squirrel that has a velcro pouch in it and when she destroyed her first duck, we took out the quacker and put it in the squirrel. She adores it.

It's really not good for your dog's psychological health to be so obsessive and fixated on one specific toy.....
Your dog is not "depressed" without his toy. His excitement only arises when he sees the toy because he connects the toy with this excitement/obsession. Likely you project this feeling onto him. Dogs live in the moment, so he is not sitting around thinking, "Oh I wish I had that one toy" over and over.

Dogs should always be willing to experience new things, especially toys.

Hi SLS!
If you can put a photo of the toy up, I will keep my eye out for one. Also, I'll bet if you call the place where they do carry it, they will ship you several, that way, you can have a couple on reserve. I'm sure they have a website. Have you checked E-Bay?
