I recently got a puppy 4 weeks ago and these would be the items I recommend:

Many Toys - A puppy will try and bite everything he/she can whilst their teething
Soft Bed
Crate - Very Handy
Leash, Collar/Harness
Puppy Food And Maybe Puppy Milk/Dog Food - I recommend: Hill's Science plan puppy food or Pedigree dog food
Blanket/s
Treats

And Love
Good Luck!

First of all Congratulations on a New puppy!!! :)

So here is 20 things that you will need for a NEW puppy!!

1. A travel crate (for traveling and for crate training)
2. Bowls, one for water, one for food
3. Leash. A six-foot nylon lead is best for training a puppy
4. Adjustable buckle collar. It is best to get one that will fit properly now, but can be enlarged. An average goes through a LOT of collars during the growing stages. Be prepared.
5. Appropriate puppy food.Select a high quality food.
Pick a 6 star to 4 star food.
6. Have a veterinarian appointment lined up to check your new pup for worms, and any other possible health problems, as well to get his puppy vaccines. If not already seen a vet from the breeder
7. Toys - Squeaky toys that are rubber seem to be every pup's favorite
8. Bitter Apple Spray - to keep your new puppy from eating your chairs, tables, books, etc
9. Puppy Treats - essential for training, there are literally hundreds of kinds and flavours on the market
10. Dog Bed (for a cozy place to sleep on)
11. Dog Brushes and Comb
12. Puppy Shampoo
13. Puppy pee pee pads
14. Dog Nail Clippers
15. Greenies they have vitamins that both dogs and puppies need. They also help to control tartar, bad breath, and plaque build up.
16. Frontline
Ask the breeder if your puppy has already had Frontline put on them. Frontline protects the puppy against fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. Always a good idea when entering a new environment and it will save you a lot of stress later.
17. Tooth Brush and Paste
18. ID Tag with your phone number to wear on the collar
19. a good book on puppy care & training
20. Cleaning Products (to clean up puppy mess)

And now you are ready for your NEW puppy!! :) GOOD LUCK

Hope this helps!!! :)

And Congratulations again on the NEW puppy!! :)

Inside or outside doggie?

Will need the basic stuff: Food/Water Bowls, treats, chew toys.

Extra's that my dogs love: Their own bed or floor mat, one of my dog's carries around stuffed animals all the time, you'll have to experiment with what kind of chew toys your new dog will like best once he or she settles into your home. They all have different personalities and preferences for toys, of all things.

Also, if outside, look into investing into a dog house or igloo for windy and rainy days. My dogs hate both kinds of weather.

If inside, those baby gates that block-off other rooms is good while you are potty training (or can use crate training), but the less space they have to hide their potty, the more secure they feel until they are more secure in their new home.
