A kennel that you trust or a friend has recommended....Dog house sitting isn't very good because you would be letting a stranger into your home.

If I had to choose between the kennel or another home, I would choose the kennel. I have a good friend that looks after my animals in my house when I go away. If she is not available we take them to a local kennel that they LOVE to go to.

When I go away and can not take my dogs I have a trusted-by me and the dogs-friend come to stay at my house and care for them. It is stressful enough on the dogs for me to be away so I do not want them to have to be away from their home in a strange place also adding to the stress. I personally do not like kennels because they do not have the time nor get paid to properly play with and excersise my dogs. So I am not willing to pay someone to stick them in a kennel and let them out a few times a day to go potty only to be stuck back in again.

I would hire a pet sitter. I think the pet sitter would play, interact, and make the him happy twice as much as a dog kennel would. Also, a pet sitter would be cheaper.

I've found a great facility to board my dogs at. Its a training/boarding kennel.

Kennels are always sparkly, the dogs get several walks a day, one on one time with the staff, and time in the big play yard.

Hi, We used to take our Sammy girl to the kennels when we went on holiday. We felt bad doing that even after we had checked out the kennels! The owner and keeper was a client of ours and our dog loved her! The owner, Anne was wonderful and gave us loads of help when we needed it. However, our familly has now grown to 6 dogs and 5 cats, so we will be getting someone in that we trust to look after them in the future.

a sitter to come to your home is best, 2nd is they go to sitters house last choice is a kennel. I prefer the individulized attention a sitter gives, and i hate my babies being in a cage the majority of the day.

Ask yourself, when you go on holidays, would you like to spend your time in the bathroom?

Pets, to many people are treated like precious beings and live in comfortable surroundings. When the owners go on holidays they have the choice of a 'cage' type of environment with entry to a pen for the animal to go to the toilet.

Home2home is usually a situation where a dog is able to participate in a regular family atmosphere and most carers are genuine animal lovers.

Taking into consideration DEFRA legislation that a dog must not be left unsupervised over 2 hours and home care usually allows no more than 2/3 dogs. No children. (This is still flexible, depending on the dog and the age of the child). This is UK Law.

Professional Animal Care is a lot more complicated than people may realise and many things need to be taken into consideration.

another house is better but the person should be familiar with dogs.

some dogs actually enjoying kennels quite a lot while some suffer from separation anxiety. however, the people working at kennels (the better ones) are specialized to work with dogs and will know better how to deal with dogs if the dog becomes sick or something.

kennels are generally good but its important to visit the place first and see if it is clean.
