providing all vaccinations are up to date and you have had the dogs kennel cough jab done then you should be adequately protected if this is your dogs first time then maybe a favourite toy and/or something a blanket for example with your scent on may help to settle them down
Just kennel cough and there normal vaccinations….they usually need a copy of the vaccination booklet which your vet can supply. We usually take their bedding and toys, but check with the kennels beforehand whether or not you can take such things….I would also try and have a look at the kennels beforehand….a good kennels will normally let you do that.
That’s up to the kennel. Most want a current Rabies, DHPP/CV, HW test and Kennel cough. But that’s up to the kennels, Rabies is a law. Personally I wouldn’t board unless all these were current and the kennel made all pets be current. Not only for the safety of my dog but the others at well. O and Possible a neg fecal sample exam. You also might want to make sure you pet has a fresh application of Frontline Plus on, so you don’t bring home any fleas and he’s not going to be getting bitten, and will be more comfy.:)
That’s up to the kennels in question as lots have different requirements. But most want a current Rabies, DHPP/CV, HW test and Kennel cough. Some kennels ask you to supply bedding, feed, toys etc. You would have to discuss this with the Kennels before boarding your dog with them, so you know all their requirements.
All injections, including parvo, distemper etc must be up to date. You also must have kennel cough innoculation. If the kennel does not ask for proof of all of these, go elsewhere. Any good kennel will let you inspect the premises without notice.
You have to take evidence that all vacs are up to date. It would be best to take some stuff from home with you too so that he feels more at ease. Take like a blanket or toy something with home scent on it.
all injections must be up to date inc kennel cough for most kennels and if your dog is on any special food or meds take them too.
take your dogs jab card with you, they should have already asked for your details, your vets details along with details of the dog inc any issues it has with anything such as other dogs, allergies etc

You have to have your dog up to date on shots. When I put my dogs in a kennel I needed a vet letter with proof of shots.
