well i wouldnt recommend working in a kennel where dogs bark all day. i dont know how people can work in those conditions, or how people can actually leave their dogs there
Depending on how loud it gets. If I were you I would invest in some ear plugs if its that bad. They don’t eliminate all sound, but it lessens the burden on your ear drums.
You have to look at the way the ear works, We all have little hairs in our ears that look like guitar strings. When sound vibration hit the strings, they vibrate. When those hairs brake is when we experience hearing loss. Working in a dog kennels probably will not lead to hearing loss, unless the dog is barking right next to your head for hours on end. The kind of things that lead to premature hearing loss are things like…Blasting your ipod for hours or exposing your ears to extremely loud noises for extended periods of time.
Yes. Any level of noise that reaches about 85+ decibels or so can cause hearing loss. Always protect your hearing with ear plugs or noise-cancelling headphones when in a noisy environment.
yes it can, i worked in kennels for 4 years and we were never supplied with ear protection…………….we weren’t allowed protection because we had to listen out for the bell at reception!!! i realize how stupid that is now, i haven’t noticed any hearing loss, but then again iv not had my hearing tested.
if you work in kennels it is your right to ask for ear protection, and probably the law (in UK, not sure about us) for your employer to supply it

Definitely.
If the dogs bark a lot - wear ear plugs.
