My advice is call for a price quote on the insurance you are seeking then do not buy it. If you set aside the price of the insurance premiums you will come out further ahead over the years. Most insurance policies have such high co pays and such limited benefits in all but a few cases they are really little more than legal scams. I do know of several people who have received benefits and even though the insurance helped even they admit ed it was not worth the costs. Shop and consider carefully before obligating yourself.

Pet Plan through the CKC. If you should buy a purebred dog that is registered with the CKC - I believe Pet Plan is offered for free for 15 weeks(?)

I'd recommend Pet Plan. We're going to get another dog and we'll get their insurance. Living on a pension and not wanting any surprises, we're going to hopefully go for the best plan. You have to get a quote based on the type of dog and it's age. Until we get it, we won't know.
I had it for my bullmastiff and it came in handy so many times when I was single. I would have not been able to meet her special needs if it hadn't been for that. I certainly recommend it - even if you get the first plan.
Their brochure is online - they list what each plan covers and what the deductibles for each are. Then just ask them for a quote.
Congratulations for being a smart pet owner and getting insurance!
