Opening a dog grooming shop?

I am a BIG animal lover. I have several Shih-tzus and I have wanted to open up a dog grooming shop for quite some time.
However, there are no dog grooming schools around here and no one wants to “train” someone to groom because they could be competition.
Would it be possible to hire a groomer to do the grooming and pay a commission? And then possibly learn some from them? I would make appointments and do the bathing and of course help out - I am just wondering if this idea would work…

Also, how much commission should I pay? And would I supply the suppies and equipment? What about insurance?

Why not find a dog groomer in another part of the country (far away from where you are) that is willing to train you? You won’t be competition to them if you live in another state.
