Dog Food??

dog food

We have been feeding my dog Blue Buffalo dog food for a while now. It is a newer dog food that is very rich in omega fatty acids (look it up for all the details). It is a great dog food. My dog is a shedder and the food helps. but… it is very expensive. We can no longer spend 12.99 on a 5lb. bag of dog food now that we have two dogs. We will be going away on vacation in a week or two and where we are boarding them, they will be fed Nutro. Is it a good healthy dog food? What is a comprable brand that is good for shedding dogs and that isn’t as expensive as Blue Buffalo but is still very healthy?

Any time you change your dogs food you should do it gradually. Mix in the Nutro with the Blue Buffalo and gradually change over. You can really upset their tummies with a quick change! Nutro is a pretty good food I have used the natural with dogs before - I now use Eagle Pack Holistic Select for Large Breeds for my dogs. I don’t know how much your dogs eat but its always better to be sure they have good food or you’ll end up spending money at the vets! Have fun on your vacation and give the pups a pet! You sound like a great dog parent!

I love The Great Dane Lady for canine nutritional information. We have shepherds, but her website has tons of information specific to breed size, health issue, etc. It also has several premium dog foods which are easy to get and range in price. I highly recommend checking out her website:

Same food as when you asked this yesterday.. Canidae All Life Stages

There is lots that I don’t like about Nutro at all.. But for the same reasons I don’t like the Blue Buffalo.. I wouldn’t feed either of them to my dogs..

If you cant make your own, Canidae or something equal.

Then just give supplements or treats to get the Omega 3.
