So our dog eats his food crazy fast. And he doesn’t like to chew it, he just swallows it. So we are looking for big pieces that he has to chew. The biggest I’ve found so far is Science Diet large breed dog food. They are sphere pieces that are maybe like 3/4 of an inch diameter. He chews maybe half and swallows the rest. It’s definitely better than before, but still not great. Is there a dog food that has really big pieces so dogs have to chew it? Thanks.

I would like to feed my dogs a good quality dog food with good ingredients but dont have the money to spend on a really expensive brand. My dogs are a golden retriever, beagle, and dachshund if that information is needed. I would like advice also, like what supplements to put in the food, and the right portions, and a professional website would be the best. I have two semi large dogs. I have been feeding them Beneful dog food for as long as I have had them. I have had my oldest dog for nearly 2 years and the other over a year. However, they dont seem to be getting the nutrients that they need from this dog food. Are there any others that I could try giving them? Please help as I dont know what other kind to buy. The dermatogist could not find exactly what she is allergic to regarding foods. I wastold that there is no testing that can rule this out. She has been on the fish a potato doet for 1 year. She is allergic to mold, various grasses, and leaves, etc.

She just goes over and eats the cat food without touching hers at anytime. We keep on having to buy so much cat food and I want it to stop. They are both out all day I can’t just put the cat food up cause it drives my mom crazy. I’m wondering is there a type of dog food that most dogs usually love and will keep wanting that and stop eating the cat food.
Obviously cat food has different nutrients than dog food but if my cats eat dog food and my dog eats cat food, will it harm any of them? Is there really that much difference?

i feed my dog Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul dog food. and he used to like it. but in the past few weeks he has only been eating a mouthful at every meal. ok im just doing some research on dog food. I found one that my dog loves, however it’s going to be about $70.00 a month. (royal canin for boxers) then i found one at the grocery store and it seems to have VERY simular ingredients except for that the first ingregient was Chicken in the grocery store brand and chicken wasnt even found till the 8th ingredient on the expesive brand.
My real q is….what is “meal” like it’ll say chicken meal, fish meal. However the grocery store brand states CHICKEN for the first ingredient which to me is good.
I also compared the crude %’s and they’re very simular only off by a few.
Im prety sure rice is good for a dogs diet correct? and corn meal not so good? Because a lot of dog foods do have a lot of corn meal in the foods.

My dog is a shedder and the food helps. but… it is very expensive. We can no longer spend 12.99 on a small bag of dog food now that we have two dogs. What is a comprable brand that is good for shedding dogs and that isn’t as expensive as Blue Buffalo but is still very healthy?
