dog clothes

I never liked dog clothes and bows in their hair- until I got my shih-tzu. Her hair is always in her eyes if it’s not tied up, and she freezes and shivers outside if I don’t put a doggy-shirt on her to go potty!!! (And, she looks adorable!)

But then there are people who use their dogs as accessories. I’m actually going to give a presentation on this for my public speaking class in school next week. Any thoughts would help!
Okay, I agree fully with the first 2 answers. lol :)

    When you start dressing your dog up in S&M clothes. C’mon - no pleather, no whips, and no electrical chords from their nips!

    little shirts and sometimes sweaters are cute on a dog but i think doggie shoes and junk liek that are too much for the poor pooch :}

    I put a sweater on my chihuahua when she goes outside, or else she’ll probably freeze to death.
    But I hate it when people like Paris Hilton just get animals to use as accessories.

    If the dog acts like they don’t enjoy it, don’t do it. Some dogs really like being dressed, my dogs excited when I put a sweater on him.

    I think there is a fine line with this. Of course it is fine to put a sweater on your dog or even its hair in a bow, groomers even do this fi you take your dog there but I do not think there is any reason to carry your dog around in a bag that looks like a big fancy purse. I have seen people do this and then pull other dog accessories out liek a small water bowl, or putting shoes on them, in buying sweaters for my dog I have also seen pull pajama sets for dogs…who puts pj’s on their dog? Dogs are equipt with all the right bodily things to protect themselves so they don’t have to wear shoes or clothes. Now yes I do put sweaters on my dog but only in the winter time (we live in colorado and it gets beyond COLD) or right after I give him a bath. Thats it I dont put anything else on him or do anything to him, and I dont cart him around like a baby.

    Cute is when they need a little rain coat or a sweater when its chilly.

    Abuse is when your putting on shoes, coats, hats, and sweaters on because you think it’s cute. (Paris Hilton) (:

    I think if the dog is happy with like a bow or a little jumper on then it’s fine, but as soon as people put them in their handbags and dress them up in ballgowns, it’s rediculous. It’s like they don’t think their fur is cute enough? When they probably wear animal fur themselves? I think it’s hypocritical (:
