I got a sewing machine, and I need to make some clothes for my dog!!!
(on the internet) FREE (already did both PATTERNS on circle of crafters)

Im looking for some websites that are Canadian, that sell dog clothes, carriers, collars etc. All the website i find are from the US and shipping is too expensive.

Tell me of any Canadian based websites you know of that are good for cute dog supplies.

I have a hairless Chinese Crested that gets cold very easily and also sun burns in the Summer. I also like to protect his skin from my Chihuahua’s sharp nails when they play. I try to keep a t-shirt or sweater on him at all times but I hate spending a lot of money on his clothes. Where can I find reasonably priced shirts on the internet? I typically buy him shirts from Target but I still find $8.00 to be excessive for a dog t-shirt…Any suggestions??

I have a 4 pound Yorkie-poo and i like having sweaters and whatnot for her, but I don’t know many stores that sell clothes for small dogs. So far, i’ve tried pet smart, pet cetera, and juicy couture. The actual pet stores dont sell cute clothes though. Where else can i find some that are cute?

I’d like to somehow sew dog clothing or get it made somewhere (perhaps another country if necessary). But, how do I start? And do you think that competition is too fierce?

Just wanted to get opinions on people who buy clothes just to make their dog look cute. I read so many posts on here with everyone bashing “designer dogs” and people just getting dogs to be fashion Accessories, just wondering where everyone stood on the issue of dressing their dog.
I dress mine too, not everyday, but if its cold outside they have sweaters and if its raining they have rain coats.

Actually i have chihuahua puppies, and the reason im asking is because they cant go for walks because theyre too cold. and they also refuse to go out the house without their clothes on, so the few ones they do have are getting really dirty. just because dogs have fur also does not mean they shouldnt wear coats.

i got a short haired puppy and she will need a jacket/sweater soon but hoping there is a place to get cheap small dog clothes?

I am embarrassed to put a sweater on my 6lb Chihuahua, but I read that they get cold and it is kind to put a little sweater on them on cold mornings. But the dog seems to hate it. What do your dogs do when you put clothes on them?
Ok, based on some of the answers, I am realizing that some of you are missing the question. I don’t WANT to put a sweater on the dog. I’d rather not. I just don’t want her to freeze to death, but I also don’t want to put something on her if it bug the crap out of her.

They don’t make cat clothes like sweaters and stuff so can you buy a dog one that will fit your cat and put it on the cat?

A few years ago, I bought one for my cat and put it on her, but she just layed on the floor and refused to move until I took it off. I think it was too tight though.

I work for an animal welfare charity and we don’t disagree with clothes on dogs.. it’s just like anything in pet ownership -it’s about common sense!
a little harness, t-shirt that doesn’t restrict movement is ok.. shoes, hard, itchy material etc. isn’t..
I was actually thinking more along harness/collar lines anyway

I think dont wear doggie clothes if your dog is uncomforatble in them. Dont wear doggie clothes in the summer exspecially with long haired dogs.

I’ve been buying a lot of clothes for my miniature pinscher online at eBay, but does anyone know of a cheap online store that sells cute clothes for toy breed dogs? My pup gets cold really easy and shivers a lot, so she’s almost always wearing something. A lot of online pet clothing stores charge you more for their clothes than you would pay for your own!

My dog eats towels, clothes, blankets, basically anything cloth. Why does she do it & how do I get her to stop? I’m afraid she’ll get bound-up & need surgery.

im getting a minature poodle this weekend and wanted to know where you could buy pet clothes.
at petsmart they had some but they all were for VERY small dogs.
my mini poodle im gettng i think is a lil bigger thn a normal poodle im not sure, but in the pic they sent me he was wearing a lil shirt. i want to buy him a whole wardrobe PJ’s, formal, everyday, going out, coats.
also i tried thrift shops but they told me that they would not sell the clothes to me to use on a dog because its cruel!

also i asked the lady who has him now were she got the clothes and she said she had gotten them from walmart as a halloween costume (he was a waiter).
but i dnt want costumes! i want clothes for him!
ALSO is he a size of a mini poodle? hes 1yr old
ADD: i checked and a full grown miniature poodle weighss 15-17lbs.
so he IS a mini poodle and he also has his papers too.
a standard poodles are HUGE! haha

First off, let me say, I generally think it’s dumb to put dog clothes on your dog… but… some breeds need them in the colder weather. With that being said, how long does it usually take a dog to get used to wearing them? My 12 week old Yorkie puppy had to be shaved yesterday due to her fur being matted, (she looks crazy! she looks like she had a ‘big-head’ cheat put on her from a video game… they left the hair on her head and face!) Anyways, she shivers in the morning when she goes outside so much that she won’t go to the bathroom in her usual amount of time. She waits for the warm house, which is not going to be allowed, so I have to keep her warm outside but when I put something on her she just stops moving. Should I keep her in a shirt all day to get her use to it? How long before I say enough is enough and I can stop tortuing her?

I dont actually have a rabbit, but if i got one, i would totally do it. I am also planning on walking it on a leash. Dont say-well, just get a dog!-because the chances of me getting a dog are like one in a billion and the chances of me getting a rabbit are one in twenty.

I see him nibble on himself, as if to scratch or deflea, even though he doesn’t have any fleas. Then he will walk up to my leg and start nibbling on my clothes. It is the wierdest thing. Maybe it’s a nervous disorder, or something showing love, I don’t know. Maybe it’s just a dog thing. Please help it’s driving me crazy.
