    West Highland White Terrier.

I have a female one and she is the best thing to ever happen to me! She’s 6 months old and named Dixie.

Depends on your lifestyle. NO one can tell you what breed would be good for you over the internet. Everyone on here will just tell you their favorite breed, you might get it, and i would tottaly NOT fit your lifestyle

Some of what you mentioned is not breed specific. It has to do with the dogs genes, socialization, and training.

I don’t think any breed could really guarantee you that they won’t ever be aggressive. So much of it is training. Chihuahuas are toy breeds..I don’t think they shed much. Toy poodle maybe?
Personally, I’m a big dog person. Little dogs , IMHO, tend to be much more yappy and bitey than a larger dog.

Try researching a miniature English Bulldog. They are one of the very best family and children dogs around. Expensive because when the female gives birth, they HAVE to have a dangerous c-section. But they are great dogs and worth the price!

poodle; they don’t shed at all but do need to be groomed by a professional about every 6-8 weeks so they don’t become matted or shabby looking. Yorkies are good too but they tend to be high energy.

Lhasa Apsos match just about all of your questions , exept they do need a LITTLE amount of grooming if you let their fur long!

My favorite and what I have now is the Chinese crested poweder puff. He has sooo much personailty fun to play with, does not bark Very very very smart breed. If something ever happens to my Jimmy God forbid, I’ll get another one. lol

You know on the dog shows the little hairless dogs that look like ponys? Well that what he is but he is furry!

The beagle is a great breed. They come in 13 and 15 inch varieties. They are VERY people friendly and are great with kids. Shedding is minimal…playful? Definitely. They have a sweet temperament and incredibly adorable. I’m a bit biased (I have 2) but there’s a reason why. All around great pet and great friend.

first of all your looking for an imposible dog. but the closest thing i could think of is a toy poodle. they dont shed there perfect for family, and you need to give them excersice once a day. they do look good but they are a little noisy and grooming can be a little difficult. but this dog sounds made for you.

How much are you willing to spend? Purebreds are not cheap - some breeds will run you into a couple of thousand dollars.

Might want to consider some of the popular cross-breeds: cock-a-poos; schnoodles; westie-poos - they are all crossed with a poodle, which makes them non-shedding. They are also smaller dogs.

Really small dogs like chihuahuas and yorkies have their own set of special needs. I have never owned them, but I was told they are a little more *delicate* than larger toys…but that is heresay.

Behaviour is many times the result of the owner’s treatment of the dog. Mean owner = mean dog.

    Good luck!

EDIT: you state you are desperate. Why? Finding the right dog takes time - avoid the impulse buy! If you’ve never owned a dog, are you sure it’s the right fit for your lifestyle? You need to do some mega research - go to some dog shows; talk to breeders (if you’re going the purebred route). Whatever you do, do not buy from a pet store - they support puppy mills. And if you’ve never owned a dog and are not familiar with mills - just google it.

small dogs are more agressive than larger dogs believe it or not. i have had shizus, terriors, and a yorkie all have been agreesive especially the females. but out of all the yorkie was the best. if u want a good non agressive dog go with a lab

dachshunds (aka wiener dogs) or Italian Greyhound.

sister has a dachshund and step daughter has an Italian greyhound.

both are very cute, loveable, and sweet.

Well, in my experience I have had 2 rat terriers and they match all of the qualities your looking for. You can get them with the tails long or docked. They’re great dogs! Do some research you’ll LOVE THEM! I sure do! Good Luck!
