The top 3 in my opinion are

    1. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
    2. West Highland Terrier
    3. Beagle

All are small dogs with great personality’s

    Here is extra info:

depends how small your talking. If you want something that not “toy poodle” size then deffinately go for a king charles or beagle. they’re wonderful with any age and just so cute and lovely natured. They rarely bark at nothing (like smaller dogs) and are easy to train.

I had a poodle for 18 years. She was

    1. Smart and easy to teach anything to.
    2. Meticulous and, therefore, extremely house-broken.
    3. Did not shed at all.
    4. Barked only for a few minutes if company arrived or
any reason for the doorbell. Also, she’d bark in the night only if
    there were unfamiliar sounds.
    5. She was wary of strangers but would be OK once she saw/felt
    we were calm.
    6. Good with children as long as they did not tease or poke her.
    7. Loyal and by my side for 18 years … so sorely missed …

The breed doesn’t matter, you just need to make sure you get a well socialised pup and continue on with its training. I have a Yorkie and he is an angel who loves everyone and all dogs he meets. We bought him from a family who had kids and who had kept him in the house, so he was already used to all kinds of people when we got him. We introduced him to all our friends, encouraged people in the street to say hello and took him to meet lots of dogs and took puppy classes.

As for being yappy, you can train a dog not to bark and keeping them well exercised will make them too tired to be bothered to yap all day!

If you want the perfect dog you just need to put the work in.

    Good luck.

    hi,

to know what type of dog will suit you, you can use this dog finder match up
the goal here is to help you figure out what type of dog best suits you and your personality. The results of the match up will suggest certain breeds.

    hope this helps

Pomeranian they are very loyal and are extremely friendly..they bark at noises but if trained properly you will have the best teeniest and cutest watchdog…mine is only 4 pounds they are very small dogs.they dont need much room for exercise and love to cuddle and sleep on your lap..
