dog breeds

I want to get either a German Shepherd , a lab, or a Golden Reteriver.
I know their all really good dog breeds but my dad wants the one who sheds the least and they all shed a lot from what I hear.

So my question is does anyone know any ways to help control the sheding?

Brush them daily, then most of the hair will get on the brush instead of all over the house.

Feed good quality food. Feed fish oil.

    Brush every day.

My best way — I have a cattle blow dryer (was about $300 several years ago) and you blow off the old hair and dirt! After a bath or a swim, drying time is cut down, keeps skin in great condition and the “blower” as they’re called is also used by my husband to clean out the heat pump.

These things are powerful. Not for use on small dogs. Amusing with children.

The most important thing is a good diet. Don’t feed a food that contains corn.
the FURminator really does work wonders:
Brush them daily to get any new loose hairs.
Dogs will literally dump their coats when they are over-heated, so keep them cool and comfortable. .

I have 3 Golden’s. I groom them with the proper grooming tools and that helps to keep their shedding under control. Golden’s should only shed 1 or 2 times a year now and then in the late fall! 2 of my Golden’s had their big shed in the late fall so now their shedding is not too bad. My pup however is blowing his Adolescent coat right now so he is the worst right now.

Good nutrition also helps to minimize this too. I have heard people on this forum complain about both these breeds that shed profusely! Then to learn they are feeding the dog a really poor quality dog food. It does make a big difference in not on coat appearance by the over all health of the dog too.
A healthy dog will be less likely to shed year round then one who’s diet and health is not as good.

Brush daily againts the grain so to speak, use shedding control shampoo, you can buy it on line or a pet supermarket in your area,

Use a flea comb on german shepard/lab a brush on a golden

I comb my wire hair againts the grain and get alot of dead hair follicles and also my long hairs/smooths also, with a flea comb
