It is best to wait until the dam is at least 1 1/2 to years old as she will be fully mature then and be able to cope with the pressure and stress of carrying and birthing pups. Also make sure she has been given all her shots at least 2 weeks before breeding.
Once your dam is in heat, leave the stud with her for a day or two, giving them enough time to breed.
