Dog Training Using Video Programs
09 Oct 2009
Watching dog training videos that teach you all the various steps that make up any good dog obedience program is a terrific way to learn about training your puppy or dog at home. Watching a dog training video will help you avoid making costly mistakes that almost all dog trainers make with their dogs. Avoiding mistakes with your dog training sessions is nearly as important to the overall success as the exercises themselves, as far as creating quick and effective results.
Watching a professional dog trainer work their magic on a video is a great way to see how exactly what techniques they use themselves to get great results. The videos will teach you that the tones of voice you use, as well as your body language, are important tools in your training effort. You will learn all about using an upbeat and cheerful voice and giving your dog lots of praise to get the great results that positive conditioning greatest. Likewise, you will learn not to make the mistakes of raising your voice and yelling in anger at your dog while training him.
Although the best dog training books are a great resource, they can only tell you which type of voice to us, whereas a good dog training video lets you listen in on the expert and hear exactly the vocal tones you should be using with your own dog. Therefore, dog training videos might work even better than books for people who find that they learn better by watching and listening rather than by reading.
I know that I learn best when I can actually see how something is done, as well as listen to an explanation, and the videos have given me a better picture of how I should be going about teaching my own dogs. You may have enjoyed watching the entertaining dog training videos on YouTube. I bet if you have watched some of these you have noticed that everyone seems to have their own way of going about the training. One thing I have noticed is that all the best trained pups and dogs were trained using positive training techniques.
However, I don’t recommend trying to learn how to train your dog just by watching YouTube dog training videos. If you are serious about using a dog training video program to help you train your dog, be sure to get ahold of a complete and thorough video training program that helps you train your pet from the puppy stage step by step right on through advanced training.
They many dog training videos on the Internet offer lots of conflicting information and advice. I have check out some of the better dog training videos and I have found one that I really like better than the others. Please click here to check out my favorite dog training video program.
